Douvilleiceras polished ammonite fossil from Ambatolafia, Madagascar. These ammonites are approx. 3" - 3.5" in size and sold individually. The exterior has been polished to reveal the oak-leaf suture pattern under the outer surface of the shell. All ammonoids show some type of suture pattern. The term "suture pattern" refers to the featured line that makes contact with the septa and the interior of the aragonitic shell.
