Elementuit Clayware Wind Bells

David began making pots 55 years ago. He owes his inspiration to master teachers along the way. These are the unknown craftsmen that have carried the flame, and lit passion that informs his journey to this day. Currently are these Earth-cast wind bells. Made from Terrracotta clay poured directly into Earth. They are single fired to maximize strength and tonality. Clay begins as stone. Natural forces transform the mix into dust over years of time. Water turns this into clay and fire returns it to stone. It is ancient material, primal and essential. It is said that the oldest ocupation known to man is the work of the potter. A potter friend calls them "mudslingers". David is part of this lineage. My current work finds its voice in the wind.... ~David Hutchens
