Peridot
Reminiscent of the fresh greens of spring, Peridot is a popular gemstone of light to bright lime and yellow greens.
The Egyptians called Peridot the “gem of the sun.” Some believed that it protected its owner from “terrors of the night,” especially when set in gold. Others wore the gems around their left arms to ward off evil spirits.
Peridot is the birthstone for August as well as a gemstone for the 15th wedding anniversary.
