Rhodochrosite
Rhodochrosite is a stone of rich rose pink featuring banded patterns similar to agate or onyx. Typically found in stalactites and stalagmites in the caves of Argentina or mineral deposits in Colorado, USA, these stones are often cut and polished into slices and other ornamental shapes. Rhodochrosite is commonly confused with Rhodonite due to their similar names and colors, but Rhodonite is mainly used for gemstones & jewelry.
Rhodochrosite is the Colorado State Mineral.
